toot, toot! http://greendoorblog.com/post-86/toot-toot http://greendoorblog.com/post-86/toot-toot Wed, 24 Feb 2010 11:15:46 -0700 There has been some very exciting stuff happening lately with Green Door. So much so that I just had to take a minute to toot my own horn.

The prestigious ISPWP {International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers} has quarterly contests, and Green Door placed in three catagories! Here are the three winners:

Also, the brand new, invitation-only Best of Wedding Photography website is live! It is an honor to be listed here with some of the world's best wedding photographers.

And last but not least, Green Door has been featured on Lucy Dylan Weddings a couple times. First, Jason and Jackie's day after session and then Delaney and Seth's engagement session in Glacier Park. Up next, Delaney and Seth's 'non-wedding.'

We started at their house, where they piled on the couch with their three pups, then the airplanes Sean works on, and lastly out to the river. Thanks for the adventure guys!

jackie + jason, day after http://greendoorblog.com/post-82/jackie-jason-day-after http://greendoorblog.com/post-82/jackie-jason-day-after Wed, 10 Feb 2010 17:44:36 -0700 I love day after sessions. Having plenty of relaxed time with the bride and groom after the excitement, stress, and emotions of the wedding day have passed allows freedom to create something really magical. This is my brother Jason and Jackie's day after session, taken outside Bozeman with their dog Petey (one of my favorite models). We only got a few minutes of bride and groom portrait time on their wedding day, which is pretty typical, so it was perfect to spend a beautiful evening on a little road trip with them after the wedding. You can see more day after images on my website, under weddings.

graham lindsey http://greendoorblog.com/post-79/graham-lindsey http://greendoorblog.com/post-79/graham-lindsey Sun, 24 Jan 2010 05:25:10 -0700 When Graham Lindsey presented me with stick figure sketches of buried instruments and umbrellas, I knew I was in for a fun shoot. Graham is an incredibly talented musician, and it was an honor to collaborate with him on this project. You can see more of Graham on his my space and facebook pages.

Artist Bio:

Before Graham Lindsey could even drive he was already playing in punk rock bands around his hometown of Madison, Wisconsin, most notably "the world's youngest punk band" Old Skull. A little older and arguably wiser he holed up between a rural Nebraska farmhouse and a cabin in the woods of Wisconsin and woodshedded out the material for what would be his first solo album Famous Anonymous Wilderness, a debut that suddenly earned him widespread critical acclaim making it onto dozens of top ten lists including two Rolling Stone Critic's Choice lists as well as being featured on a special edition of NPR's All Songs Considered. Released on Catamount Records in 2003, it was heralded by alternative-country bible of the day No Depression as "the most audacious roots songwriter's debut since Gillian Welch's Revival," received Honorable Mention for Best Debut/Artist and was chosen as one of the Top Forty Albums of the year by Harp Magazine.

Lindsey's songs soon began showing up in many promising spots, among them Uncut Magazine's cover-mount CD Tracks Inspired by Bob Dylan -Volume 2 alongside Richie Havens, John Prine, Steve Goodman, Billy Bragg and others; the opening credit sequence of the feature film Dunsmore; and Bloodshot Records' 10-year anniversary compilation For A Decade of Sin: 11 Years of Bloodshot Records in which his inclusion was called "one of the most haunting down-home performances" on the 2-disc set.

Sophomore effort Hell Under The Skullbones immediately earned the Number One spot on the Euro Americana Chart overseas and celebrated a string of similar successes in the U.S. since its worldwide release on Spacebar Recordings and Sonic Rendezvous in 2006. The ten song album is what Uncut Magazine called "fiery folk-blues-twang, augmented by notable cameos from Van Dyke Parks, pedal steel whiz Greg Leisz and ex-Captain Beefheart guitarist Moris Tepper." Also featured are upright bassist Larry Taylor (Tom Waits) and Nick Vincent (Frank Black and the Catholics) among others.

Lindsey's unlikely journey has led him most recently to the mountains of Montana where over several years he spaded out the material for his third full-length We Are All Alone In This Together as well as it's shorter counterpart The Mine EP both recorded by producer Steve Deutsch (Van Dyke Parks, Linda Thompson) and released on Spacebar Recordings. Hailed by Ctrl.Alt.Counrty as "one of the first truly great albums of 2009" the album weaves Lindsey's signature dark backcountry imagery and poignant lyricism, or what the Chicago Sun Times has called his "road map of the human condition," together with roots based acoustic-primitive song crafting to unfold the latest chapter of his seldom sunny, often fiery, and always unapologetic bear-trap glimpse on the world.
